About

Our Legacy

Phoebus High School Football began its first season in 1975, and its first varsity season in 1976. From humble beginnings, it has grown into a championship legacy — built on hard work, community pride, and unshakable brotherhood. The Booster Club continues that legacy by investing in the next generation of Phantoms.

Championship Legacy

Phoebus High School’s football team is the only program in Virginia history to win state titles in three different VHSL classifications:

• 7 titles in Class 5
• 2 titles in Class 4
• 2 titles in Class 3

Strong Leadership

That’s 11 state championships — and still counting.

Notably, 7 of those titles were led by former Phoebus players who returned to coach their alma mater:

• Stanley Sexton (PHS ’83)
• Jeremy Blunt (PHS ’02)
